Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians COVID-19 Relief Drive

The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians has one of the highest rates per capita of Covid-19 infection and mortality among tribal nations in the U.S., and highest of any ethnic group within the state of Mississippi. The tribe has 11,000 members within 10 counties.

The Bvlbancha Collective is working in partnership with community leaders within the Bok Homa community (Laurel, Jones County) to provide immediate and long-term needs. This community is located the farthest from tribal offices, 100 miles one-way, and access to supplies is difficult due to this distance.

We have gathered a list of immediate needs to be distributed to community members there. Please let us know if your organization can help support our Chahta relatives at this time.

We would like to arrange our first shipment by Thursday, July 16th. Please email BvlbanchaCollective@gmail.com to arrange pickup/drop-off no later than July 15th. In addition to donating here in our shop, monetary donations can be sent to our PayPal account at: paypal.me/angelacomeaux1 or our venmo account at @Angela-Comeaux-1.

Please follow the Bvlbancha Collective website for updates on future solidarity opportunities.
